Over the past 26 years, Martin has been a regular contributor to a range of international defense publications including the Journal of Electronic Defense (acting as the magazine's European Editor for 12 years up to March 2001), The Knowles Report, Microwave Journal, Jane's Defence Weekly, Flight International, Naval Forces, International Defence Review, Military Simulation & Training and the NAVINT naval intelligence newsletter. Elsewhere, he has appeared on the UK's Channel 4 news program, the BBC and the Discovery Channel. During the 1991 Gulf War, he worked with the UK's Independent Television News Ltd and a range of international newspapers (including the New York Times and the Jerusalem Post) and has been invited to lecture on EW technology by industry, NATO, the Government of the United Arab Emirates and the Association of Old Crows.
