Stephen Phillips

The editor, Stephen Phillips, is an experienced naval architect specializing in the survey, valuation and performance assessment of large high-speed craft. He has been a director of Seaspeed Marine Consulting Limited since 1990 and is responsible for all its technical and market research activities.

Mr Phillips has 30 years of experience within the marine industry covering both the commercial and military sectors. Over that time he has been closely involved in the research, design, build and testing of many fast commercial ferries, military patrol craft, crewboats and luxury yachts. He has published a number of technical papers covering the design, construction, operation and safety of high-speed craft and regularly chairs technical conferences and seminars on the subject.

He is a graduate of Southampton University and has previously worked for Vickers Shipbuilding and Engineering Group in Barrow-in-Furness, Cockatoo Dockyard and International Catamaran Designs in Sydney, Australia and VT Shipbuilding in Southampton and Portsmouth in the UK.
